Bruce Beaudoin - Owner
Bruce
graduated with a BS
in Business Administration from St. Johns University. He has
put
that knowledge to work by first becoming a Manager of a carpet showroom
to opening his own store, Floors of Distinction, in 1989.
Being
in the flooring business for over 25 years, he has acquired in-depth
product knowledge and great customer rapport which keeps customers
coming back year after year. For the past dozen years Floors
of
Distinction has been a CoOp member of the nation’s largest
floor
covering buying group called CCA Global. FOD is associated
with
the branch called Flooring America / Flooring Canada.
Together
with all of the other CCA Global flooring stores the entire CoOp is
over two times the sales volume of the combined box store
sales.
This gives us excellent product advantages and helps keep the little
“mom & pop” stores like FOD much more
competitive.
Bruce Johnson - Project Manager
Bruce
has been on all sides of the flooring industry. As an owner
of a
construction company for 23 years, a flooring installer for 7 years and
now our Project Manager he can help customers with the logistics of the
project. He will come out and measure the job, explain what
will
be needed to do the flooring project and then schedule and follow the
project through to completion. With his background as an
installer he has the report and respect to get the most out of all of
the installation crews (be it carpet, hardwood, laminate, ceramic tile,
or any specialty flooring as well). We have found this to be
a
tremendous benefit of our customers at Floors of Distinction.
Heather Sandberg - Designer/Sales
Heather comes to us with a degree in Interior Design from UW Stout and has been in that field since 1990. She has worked with custom furnishings, lighting, color, texture and flooring to develop unique and functional concepts for clients. Her goal is to “Make your experience fun and comfortable while encouraging creativity and assisting with options perhaps not thought of, while building your trust and confidence." At Floors of Distinction, we can work with all of the elements of your project to arrive at the best flooring selection for each individual. We also believe that educating our clients about different products as well as the installation process helps create desired expectations.
Christina Burns - Designer/Sales
Christina graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in English Literature. Her passion for the arts includes Interior Design, as she has been a top Salesperson in the flooring industry for the past 13 years. Christina’s experience “flipping” houses of different ages and styles has provided her with invaluable insight as to the role flooring plays within a design concept. “Flooring has the ability to take center stage, or distinctly fade into the background. To me, flooring is the foundation for all other design elements.” An inherent flooring enthusiast with a desire to stay up-to-date on the latest flooring trends, Christina enjoys working with the unique assortment of products that Floors of Distinction has to offer. “We truly offer the best selection of flooring in the Twin Cities, and we promise your shopping experience will be inspiring, educational, and fun!
Colleen Kelly - Rowland - Designer/Sales
Colleen is our most recent addition to our team, but has been in the flooring business for over 25 years. She has an Interior Design degree from UW Stout and has used that degree as a Senior Master Plan Designer for Daytons / Marshal Fields for 20+ years. She enjoys helping her clients with fabrics, paint colors, and furniture, as well as flooring to help them turn their home improvement dreams into reality. Floors of Distinction allows Colleen the venue she was looking for to bring together a multitude of flooring options in a “one-stop-shop”, making it easier for the client by needing only one store to visit. With the diverse line of products available the client need only select the choice that is just right for them.
Annette Schwartz - Office/Advertising Manager
As Office Manager, Annette wears many “hats” for the company. She has been in the flooring business since 1989 and was hired 15 years ago as our first full-time sales person. Later she moved into running the financial side of the business. She continues to use her flooring knowledge to help select, price and promote our flooring options and when needed, aiding on the sales floor by helping customers with their flooring needs. She is also in charge of all advertising decisions and coordinating the monthly ads in a variety of publications as well as any other media.
